Why Should I Belong? & What is Membership?
Often when people think of membership they think of a YMCA or Netflix. We pay some organization for a subscription to receive a good. Church Membership is not about a program you are subscribed to but rather as believers in Jesus we have been given rights and responsibilities through the free gift of salvation.
You don't have to pay to be a part of Christ's church. When you believe, you become a member of Christ's body known as the Church. Better than a Netflix subscription you get connected to the God of the universe who has given us the best resource for sharing his free gift of salvation, the local church in your community.
Local church membership is about joining what God is already doing in your region through like minded Christ followers who have a heart for lives to be made new through the gospel. Here's a few quick thoughts on why you should join our local church?

- Membership is not about what the church gives me but what I am giving to my local church; my self as a living sacrifice to God.
- Membership represents my alignment with our church history, understanding of God, and commitment to the people of this local church.
- Membership is about the rights and responsibilities I carry as a child of God in my local community.
- Membership is about pursuing the best life God has for me by pursuing his word and growing in my faith daily.
- Membership is my response to what God is already doing in me and recognizing he can do even more when I'm in community with others.
- Membership helps build the body of Christ in my local community by my commitment to the vision, mission, and goals of Alive Wesleyan!
Ready To Belong To Our Church Family Through Membership?
The Membership Process
1.) Express Membership Interest - Tell a Pastor or fill out our membership interest form. You can e-mail Pastor Josiah Roloson at [email protected] or click the link below.
2.) Attend Wesleyan Membership Class - Taught by our pastors this class goes over the Wesleyan church history, governance, theology, rights, and responsibilities of all members. This is offered sometimes as a one day class on a Saturday or a 4 to 6 week Sunday School class depending on how long it takes to get through all of the material. Classes are usually scheduled based off of interest and availability of membership candidates.
3.) Participate In Membership Interview - Every membership candidate will share their testimony of how they have came to faith in Jesus as Lord and share why they want to become a member of Alive Wesleyan. This interview takes place on the second Tuesday of the month around 7pm during our regularly scheduled local board of administration/board of ministry meeting. The board will ask a few questions but this is a relaxed time to get to know one another as you become a member of our church.
4.) Celebrate In Sunday Worship - Lastly after the membership interview the board votes to approve you as a new member of the church and then we schedule a Sunday morning celebration to formally receive you as members of Alive Wesleyan Church before the Congregation.
